Car rental company Turbo Car Rentals announced its next-generation electric car will be powered by a plug-in hybrid engine.
The company says the vehicle will be able to go up to 200 miles per charge on a single charge and will be priced at around $35,000.
The vehicle will feature a 6-foot-tall, 2.7-liter battery and will have a range of 400 miles.
The Turbo Car Rental website says the new car will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2020.
In addition, the company says it will be the first electric car to be certified for the International Emissions Standards, which requires electric vehicles to meet certain emissions standards.
The certification process takes about six months and can cost anywhere from $250,000 to $1 million.
The EV company says that the vehicle’s battery will be upgraded to 10 kilowatt-hours by the time it ships in 2020.
The website says Turbo Car is a small business based in New York City that employs 15 people.
