You can’t really buy a car with the proceeds from a car rental but you can buy a cheap car without a car insurance policy.
That’s the lesson learned by car rental firm uhaul after its car rental business was shut down last month.
According to a statement from the company, it has had a hard time finding buyers and has struggled to find the right car to take its customers.
“Unfortunately, we had a very difficult time finding a buyer,” the statement read.
“The business went under and we had to take a few months to get the car back to the dealership and the car rental company and we were in the process of finding a new owner.
That was a tough sell and we needed to start from scratch and find a new buyer to lease a car to.”
Uhaul has since re-opened the business but it is not the same as before.
“We’ve been able to get a few people to come on board,” says Uhaul’s chief operating officer, Ryan Brown.
“But it’s not a full-fledged business.
It’s just a rental business.”
Brown says there are currently five drivers on staff and that the business will be open again next week.
“It’s a full time job for us.
It doesn’t really require any skills.
It just takes a little bit of time and a little patience,” he says.
He adds that drivers will still be responsible for the car, but will not be required to keep a car registered and insured.
uhaul is one of many car rental companies in the UK struggling to find buyers after it was shuttered in March.
It is not just the UK that has faced a lack of demand.
Earlier this month, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a clampdown on car rental firms, saying they “would not survive” if they were allowed to operate.
the government, the move was intended to “protect the livelihoods of ordinary citizens”.
The move has prompted complaints from car rental owners and their families.
But the clampdown has already had a negative impact on the industry.
“In some parts of the country, we’ve had people driving up to our car rental agency to rent cars,” says Brown.
uhampton car rental was closed in April after its owners could not find buyers to take over the business.
Uhaul had already been forced to close two other car rental businesses before it was forced to reopen.
uhaul has been in business for over 50 years and says its car rentals are a major part of its business.
Brown says that although he is not a car enthusiast, he loves to drive cars.
“If you don’t drive, I’m not going to drive,” he explains.
“I have a great love for cars.
It means so much to me to be able to drive it.” uhamptons car rental is one example of the ways in which the car industry is changing as the number of people driving cars in Britain continues to grow.
According the latest statistics from the Department for Transport, the number who drive cars in the country has more than doubled over the last five years, reaching a record high of 10.3 million in 2010.
